One printable that we have used since we first started homeschooling is our book report printable. Especially now that Amelia has moved onto short chapter books, Frankie and I have really been focusing on reading comprehension with her. She’s really loving the Junie B. Jones series by Barbara Park right now and loves to tell us all about the adventures and shenanigans that Junie gets herself into in each book. This book report printable has been extremely helpful in helping her break down the parts of each story and summarize it in her own words. Plus, she has her Daddy’s love of drawing so we even added a spot for her to include her favorite illustration from the book or create one of her own! Another great benefit to using a book report printable is being able to include copies of your child’s reports in year end portfolios if necessary. It’s an easy way to demonstrate reading comprehension ability, writing skills, and even includes an art sample.
