So I am sitting outside, watching the girls play in the new inflatable pool I purchased for them at Toys R Us yesterday. It’s a beautiful sunny day today and the temperature is just resting below 80 degrees. I probably should be finishing up a flower bed or painting something, but it’s now or never for our blog. I seriously have attempted to write this post at least a dozen times, but I’m going to get it out today….for sure. This blog has sat empty now for almost two years, which is really sad and makes me feel a little ashamed.
I’ve been writing a blog in my head for probably about 5 or 6 years now. Every so often I’ll get a few minutes of free time and I’ll put something together. That “something” soon gets put on the back burner though. Between all the activities that the girls are in, homeschooling, and our home based business it’s a miracle I get the chance to shower or remember to eat some days!
But I know there are other families out there who can relate. Families who love their calmly chaotic lifestyles. Families who enjoy exploring together, creating together and just spending time enjoying each other. Sometimes our parenting choices aren’t considered the “norm”, but the more and more we reach out and connect with other families we realize that’s ok. We are giving our girls great experiences and adventures that will help shape them as they grow. They get to learn and play hands on, travel and see things first hand, and are learning so much by driving their own education.
So that brings me back to this blog. Frankie and I really enjoy working together as a team on things and honestly, we work really well together. With our crafting business starting to get fairly busy, we figured that our blog was really the next step for us. We really want a place that we can document our day to day adventures. A place that we can come back to when the girls are older and remember the outings, the activities, the destinations and the lazy days at home. We also want a place that we can share with other busy families. It’s not always easy and sometimes we feel a bit crazy, but to know that a recipe we love or an activity for the kids that we have shared has brought joy to another family; that’s the ultimate goal for our blog – sharing our little slice of heaven with others.
We hope you enjoy following our journey and will share your experiences, tips and knowledge with us along the way!
