3 Amazing Evan-Moor Workbooks You Need for Homeschooling
Evan-Moor has so many award-winning titles that it’s hard to narrow down my favorites. We use dozens of Evan-Moor workbooks for homeschooling. Many I’ve shared with you on the blog.

Today I want to share my top 3 favorite Evan-Moor workbooks for homeschooling. Two of these titles we have been using consistently for years. The third is a new-to-us title that has soared to the top of my list this year.
Our Favorite Evan-Moor Workbooks
We own SO MANY Evan-Moor titles and love them all. Honestly, I had trouble widdling this down to just my favorite 3 titles. Evan-Moor workbooks were among my first purchases when we decided to start homeschooling. I actually believe I had a few of their workbooks for at home practice in Prek-K as well.
Their workbooks are perfect to pair with curriculum or use as stand-alone resources (we have done both!)
The option to order printed workbooks or download Evan-Moor PDF books has been a huge plus for us. We own many of the physical books but when I’m in a pinch or know I’ll want to reproduce some pages, I download the e-book.
History Pockets
The Evan-Moor History Pocket series makes it so easy to integrate hands-on, interactive activities into your history lessons. Each book comes ready to go with very little prep work. There are a few items you’ll need to have on hand:

We have used History Pockets for several years and continue to purchase each new title as they are published because we love them so much. My girls look forward to creating a new history pocket book each year. They also like to go back and look through their old pockets from time to time.
I love how easy these workbooks are to implement. We can pick one up and work on it over a weekend as a separate project or pair the pockets with individual lessons.
My kids retain so much information from assembling the history pockets. I think the hands-on aspect really helps in comprehension and engagement.

Daily Language Review
We love any type of bite-sized review or practice that we can implement daily. I think it’s great to have some type of spiral review built into your homeschool plan. The Daily Language Review workbooks are perfect for staying on top of ELA.

Each day there are 5 review questions for your child to answer. They are short, half page worksheets and labeled Monday-Friday for ease of use. My girls can quickly flip the book open and complete their review for the day on their own.
Topics like grammar, vocabulary, spelling and comprehension are covered. It’s always the perfect mix of skills in each review.
I love that these workbooks are easily reproduced when you purchase the teacher’s edition or e-book. So I can simply reprint or make copies when Gwen is ready to use a new grade level that Amelia already had. (This is one of the main reasons we like Evan-Moor workbooks for homeschooling – they make it so easy to use with multiple children!)
STEM Lessons & Challenges
This one is a relatively new title for us. We love anything hands on and STEM or STEAM related. This title seemed like a perfect fit for our homeschool.
At first glance, I was a little worried. You know me – I DREAD messy, supply intensive experiments and projects. I am all about print-and-go type activities.
However, after diving into this workbook with Gwen I realized it’s extremely well written and planned out. The activities are simple yet very engaging.
The format presents a challenge for the students from 3 specific areas – Earth science, life science and physical science. This made it really easy to pair the STEM challenges with our current science lessons.
The big deal about these STEM challenges – the workbook gives a testable goal for the kids to work toward. This was the selling point for me. I’ve done so many experiments and challenges with the girls where we ended up completely lost as to what the objective actually was to begin with.
The suggested materials lists are mostly items you will have on hand or are easy to locate.
Each challenge walks the student through the design process. They first plan, then create, test and evaluate their project. If their project didn’t pan out to meet their goal, they can redesign and adjust.
I love that the workbook encourages them to redesign their project if necessary. This was a huge confidence builder. They learned that many projects, experiments and inventions go through this “redesign” process. This took away any fear of failure.

Don’t take this as an eternal list of my favorite Evan-Moor titles. I’m always finding a new title that fits our homeschool style perfectly. I’m sure my favorites will continue to change and evolve as the girls get older.
